GAZA FACE A UNE GRAVE CRISE DE LIQUIDITES
The Gaza Strip is facing a severe shortage of banknotes, a consequence of three years of war, bank closures, and financial restrictions preventing the influx of new cash. Electronic payments have become widespread, accounting for over 95% of banking transactions, but many families remain excluded from these services. To access their cash, residents often have to go through intermediaries who charge commissions that can exceed 20%. This situation further complicates everyday purchases and weakens an already devastated economy.
