After 28 years of adventure and nearly 50,000 kilometers walked, British traveler Karl Bushby arrived in his hometown of Hull, England, on Monday. Setting off from southern Chile in 1998, this former paratrooper had challenged himself to circumnavigate the globe without using any means of transportation. His journey took him across four continents and some thirty countries, where he faced jungles, deserts, extreme conditions, and bureaucratic hurdles. Welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd, he was reunited with his family, including his mother, whom he hadn't seen for ten years.
